‘One Old Grouch’ Pin

The Grouch Pin was introduced in 2002 when the East County Cruisers were just starting out. One member was always a bit grouchy, and we joked that their badge should say "One Old Grouch."

Another member took this further and had the badge made, presenting it to the person in good humor. To avoid singling anyone out, we told them they could pass it to someone else at the next meeting if they wore it for fun. Since then, the pin has been passed along from member to member at each meeting for over two decades, with many replacement versions. It serves as a lighthearted reminder not to be grouchy and is an excellent conversation piece.

It's an honor to wear it!

The East County Cruisers car club has a unique tradition involving the "One Old Grouch" pin. At each meeting, a new member is selected to be responsible for the pin, which they must wear at all times until the next meeting. If they are caught without the pin, they must keep it until the following meeting. Check out some photos below of our car club members proudly traveling with the pin!
